Introducing Alcohol-Free Liquor from The Whisky Exchange
0

Would you drink alcohol-free liquor? One company is banking on enough people answering that question with a resounding “yes.”

The Whisky Exchange is introducing their own signature line of alcohol-free spirits aimed at customers who prize a healthy lifestyle. They promise a clean-tasting, smooth product that’s suitable for a wide range of dietary preferences, including not just low-carb and keto diets but those based entirely on total caloric intake as well. In other words, these spirits are low calorie, low sugar, low carb, and yet still somehow pack in a whole lot of taste.

How do they do it? Let’s see:

Using proprietary technology developed in conjunction with the low-energy chemistry department of the English Technology Institute, we have developed a way of removing the alcohol from a variety of spirits without overly impacting the mouthfeel and flavour. Our licensable reactor technology removes the alcohol from the spirit slowly, and this trickle-stripping™ process allows the drink to maintain its character – but with no alcohol.

The brand talks a lot about their patented L.A.S.E.R. (that stands for Latent Alcohol Spirits Extraction Reactor, by the by) and they have a number of licensing deals in the works, so who knows what’s next in the world of alochol-free booze.

The big question is this: Does it taste good? TWE out Clean Spirits to the test and this is what they found:

More than 90% of those who took part praised the range, and when asked to estimate the alcohol level in the Clean Spirits Whisky bottling, almost all said ‘40%-46%’. One participant even asked for extra water to dilute their whisky, ‘because cask-strength whiskies are a little too much for me’.

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding, so we suggest picking up a bottle of Clean Spirits whisky, cognac, rum, gin, or vodka and trying it for yourself. Let us know what you think!
